About Us
Known as one of the Bay Area's top-flight acoustic/electric bands, the Rodeo Clowns deliver tight, dancable covers of classic Rock & Roll by legends such as the Doobie Brothers, Steve Miller, Van Morrison Jefferson Airplane and Jack Johnson.
The band is lead by John Lawton (guitar/vocals) and includes Marla Goody (vocals), Scot Larsen (bass/vocals) and Steve Pefley (drums).
The Rodeo Clowns Band is a four-piece band that infuses a contemporary, high-energy, acoustic/electric sound into the Classic Rock/Pop music of the 60's, 70’s, and today. Their music covers artists such as Van Morrison, Jack Johnson, Sublime, Tom Petty, and Steve Miller.
The Clown's singing is highlighted by strong male and female lead vocals and accentuated by three-part harmonies, reminiscent of local music legends including: the Doobie Brothers, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, and Journey. Their music will make you move in your seat and want to get up and dance. Their use of acoustic guitar allows them to play at reasonable volume levels to facilitate both dancing and conversations.
